Founded in 2024, Northern Illinois Mini RC Club has since grown organically to over 20 members. Our mission is to provide the infrastructure and organization for all to enjoy the wonderful world of mini-scale RC.
We collaborate with local venues to secure space for our members to enjoy their hobby and develop community. Our events follow a strict philosophy of: 1) have fun, 2) encourage participation, and 3) foster friendly competition.
To grow our hobby, we're intentional about keeping our club open and inviting to all. If you're new to mini scale or RC racing in general, we encourage you to attend one of our upcoming events or connect with another member of our club - our socials and contact info can be found in the footer of our site.

The Northern Illinois Mini R/C (NIMRC) Club is a community organization devoted to the promotion, education, and enjoyment of 1/28 scale radio control racing.
We strive to:

Provide safe, well-maintained track facilities and events, emphasizing fair competition, sportsmanship, and the joy of racing
Deliver educational programs, workshops, and mentorship opportunities to help new members learn skills (from setup and tuning to racecraft)
Encourage innovation, experimentation, and skill development in scale RC design, build, and performance
Cultivate partnerships with local schools, STEM programs, community organizations, and sponsors to inspire the next generation of RC enthusiasts
Operate transparently, responsibly, and sustainably — reinvesting resources into club infrastructure, track improvements, and member support
Celebrate and preserve the heritage of scale RC while evolving with modern techniques, materials, and electronics
Our mission is to unite, empower, and elevate the 1/28 scale RC community in northern Illinois — building not just faster cars, but lasting friendships, knowledge, and a legacy of fun.
